Astronomers Tale

Written as a memoir with lush, atmospheric prose, Astronomer's Tale follows Gary as he leaves behind a bricklayer's life to become an amateur-turned-leader of one of Europe’s premier stargazing destinations. Set against the dark skies of Northumberland's Kielder, the narrative weaves practical astronomy into everyday life and offers a seasonal guide to the night sky. The book's structure—personal chapters interlaced with seasonal sky notes—feels like a gentle, ongoing invitation to observe, learn, and dream big.
